Laundry and home cleaning brand Ecosys raises Rs 5 Cr in pre-Series A round
Laundry and home cleaning brand Ecosys has raised Rs 5 crore in a pre-Series A funding round led by GVFL Prarambh Fund, with participation from Proteus Partners, backed by operator-investors Puru Gupta and Sreejith Moolayil. The latest round takes Ecosys’ total funding raised to Rs 7.94 crore. The company said in a press release that it will use the funds to build the brand, expand its digital reach and develop new formats across laundry and home cleaning. Founded in 2017 by Sumit Goyal and Chirag Dangi, Ecosys offers laundry pods made with water-soluble PVA film. Its 20-ml pods combine detergent, fabric softener and stain remover in a single pre-measured dose for top-load and front-load washing machines. Mumbai-based Ecosys sells its products through quick-commerce and e-commerce platforms. The company is focused on increasing the adoption of laundry pods as an alternative to conventional powder and liquid detergents. According to market research cited by the company, India’s household cleaners market is growing at nearly 14% annually, more than twice the global growth rate. The laundry and home cleaning segment has also seen funding activity from brands such as Koparo, which raised Rs 14.5 crore in an extended pre-Series A round last year, and Cleevo, which secured $1 million in a seed round. Beco raised $10 million from Tanglin Venture Partners, while Scrubsy raised Rs 27 crore from V3 Ventures in August this year. Bareback Media has recently raised funding from a group of investors.
