New tech on the block: Ride Hailing & Ecommerce, Fintech & EV

The Tech Pandatakes a look at recent tech launches. Namma Yatri launched Namma Santhe in partnership with Keystones, marking its entry into retail and making it the first ride-hailing company in India to build a shopping platform for the drivers on its own network. Namma Santhe runs through a physical store on the ground floor of the Namma Yatri office in Bengaluru and an online storefront that delivers to a driver’s home anywhere in the city. Rajiv Ravindran, Head of Namma Yatri Karnataka, said, “We went driver-first from the beginning. Every other platform optimised what the driver pays them. We removed that. But what a driver spends outside the app was never part of the conversation. Namma Santhe is our solution for that. We take no margin on it.” Jio Finance Platform and Service Limited (JFPSL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jio Financial Services Limited (JFSL), today announced the launch of JioFinance+ and JioFinance360 on the JioFinance app. The two novel initiatives that have been rolled out are designed to help customers better understand and improve their financial health, and unlock greater value with each transaction through enhanced rewards. Surbhe S Sharma, Chief Executive Officer, Jio Finance Platform and Service Limited said, “The launch of JioFinance+ and JioFinance360 is a pivotal step in our mission to democratise access to intelligent finance for every Indian at scale. With JioFinance+, we are pioneering the most comprehensive membership model that shares a portion of our platform commission revenue directly with customers as value-back on each eligible transaction. This reflects our deep commitment to shared growth, fostering lasting relationships with our customers, and bringing down transaction costs for the end-customer; even as JioFinance360 enables them to get a comprehensive and granular snapshot of their financial health, and encourages them to take necessary steps to ensure their long-term economic well-being.” Protectt.ai, an AI-native mobile app and AI security company working with leading BFSI organisations, fintechs and other enterprises, launched its new Model Context Protocol (MCP) Security Solution to mitigate agentic AI risks. “The security conversation around AI has largely focused on the model. But as agentic AI becomes autonomous, it is potentially more exposed to threats when connected to tools and enterprise systems,” said Manish Mimani, Co-founder and CEO of Protectt.ai. “Organisations must take cognizance of these evolving vulnerabilities as threats evolve. Our full-stack MCP Security Solution plugs this gap by providing unified protection across the agent’s lifecycle.” Ahead of World EV Day, Gateway Distriparks Limited (GDL), an Indian multimodal logistics service provider, deployed Blue Energy Motors’ electric heavy-duty trucks as part of its commitment to advancing sustainable mobility across its logistics operations.
